You wonder why, I stayed behind? Tried to follow your dreams, blindfolded without trust. I know, I should have listened to my breaking heart.
I heard you cry; you couldn't find Your own joy it seems. Portrays love that is lost. You know, you should have listened to my breaking heart.
Strung out & struck down No one else around Strung out & struck down If you could only see me now As my stomach turns, I turn to green I'm not a king, my beauty queen 'Cause I'm all strung out & struck down On the wrong side of town
You let me die. I didn't mind. Clears up just what it means: get wealthy at all cost. We knew, the love we wanted differed from the start.
Strung out & struck down No one else around Strung out & struck down If you could only see me now As my stomach turns, I turn to green I'm not a king, my beauty queen 'Cause I'm all strung out & struck down On the wrong side of town
You wonder why, I stayed behind? Tried to follow your dreams, blindfolded without trust. I know, I should have listened to my breaking heart.
Strung out & struck down No one else around Strung out & struck down Lyin' on the ground Strung out & struck down If you could only see me now As my stomach turns, I turn to green I'm not a king, my beauty queen 'Cause I'm all strung out & struck down On the wrong side of town
Is about the worst hang-over EVER! Written on acoustic guitar. A guy totally wasted and feels that he has to drink because he no longer can take the pressure of living up to his girlfriend's expectations. The string solo is his delirium. The chorus was inspired -lyrically- by Buffy Sainte-Marie's "Until It's Time For You To Go" (go figure!).
