Northern Star

Well stars don't sparkle like the morning dew
A new day starts, will take away the gloom
You found me with an eagle-eye
Never let go until we reach the sky

'Cause baby you shine just like the northern star
Baby you shine just like the northern star
You are too far away

Neon lights of the city fade
A one way ticket to the everglades
Well my search answers took away the pain
Losing no lover in a partially game

'Cause baby you shine just like the northern star
Baby you shine just like the northern star
You are too far away

'Cause baby you shine just like the northern star
Baby you shine just like the northern star
You are too far away

Here comes the feeling of wonder
Slowing me down crossing field
All is forgiven, forgotten
Now you, you just call out my name

And say come on, come on, come on
Come on, come on, come on
Come on, come on, come on
Let my love take you high
Come on, come on, come on
Let my love take you high
Let my love take you high
Let my love take you high

This one's actually about someone we know personally. One of the brightest souls you'll ever meet, and at the same time one of the darkest. Shines like a star, but way out of reach. Maybe it's a woman's issue, who knows. But just when you think you're on the level with her, she's making sense and is confident, she'll be a couple of light-years away. Written on acoustic guitar, but with the "dance beat meets roots rock idea in mind".
