Ralph Schraven

Lead guitar and backing vocals.

RalphRalph was born June 17th, 1972 in Goirle (the Netherlands) and started playing guitar at the age of 14. As soon as he learned his first three chords, he also started writing songs. Together with his brother Mark he formed his first band in 1989, called Blueprint. This band was a very powerful blues-punk-rock-trio that played all over the country for years until they split in 2001.

Since 1994 Ralph joined many different bands & projects, which varied from country to heavy metal, to classical, to folk and blues and back. Ralph: "somewhere around 1999 I started getting interested in producing, recording & techniques. I built my own studio and recorded various albums. Most of which bombed by the way… I guess the world wasn't ready for folky retro-neo-classical-punk-dance by a three-piece horn ensemble!" (ed.: yep-y-yep-yep!)

But seriously, folks, Ralph takes pride in the fact that he was asked by internationally acknowledged bands like The Rosenberg Trio and Albatross to play along with them and share the stage with Walter Trout, Louis van Dijk, Guus Meeuwis and Thé Lau. After Blueprint split up in 2001, Ralph took up an offer to join the notorious rock band Elfin Woodland. There he met Da Pijl (a.k.a. the artist formerly known as Erwin the bass player).

"In 2004 I agreed to take part in a somewhat ridiculous project called Wilson.

Ridiculous, because it turned out to be a polished punk-rock band in a TV-show very popular in the gay community. Plus I had a shitload of make-up on my face! But I have no regrets, 'cause I really liked the song & its writer and the opportunity to get my face and Gibson Les Paul jr. on national television. After the Wilson-project, I decided to focus on one project only, namely the Mufkin Tass."
